Knitting Pattern in English for a Classic and Simplistic Raglan Sweater with Eye-Catching and Cute Little Details like i-Cord-Edgings with Ruffles and 1x1 Ribbing in Sizes XS | S | M (L | XL | 2XL) 3XL | 4XL | 5XL

Structure:

The sweater is worked in stockinette stitch top down with raglan increases in one piece. To shape the round neck, the sweater is first worked back and forth in rows with additional increases after the first 3 stitches and before the last 3 stitches of every right side row. As soon as the round neck is closed to the round, the sweater is worked in stockinette stitch in the round and there are only worked the raglan increases before and after each raglan stitch. After the sleeves are separated from the body, the body is worked, until the desired length is reached. Then, all body stitches are casted off with an i-Cord-edging. Afterwards, stitches are picked up again along the i-Cord-edging and after a bunch of increases, the ruffle border is worked in stockinette stitch in the round. Then, stitches are picked up under the i-Cord-edging and a hem in 1x1 ribbing is worked to finish off the body of the sweater. Finally, the sleeves are worked in stockinette stitch in the round and the cuffs are worked the same way like the hem of the body has been worked. Last, but not least, the round neck is finished with a double folded collar in 1x1 ribbing. The fit of the sweater has a positive ease of 25 cm for the smaller sizes and 15 cm for the larger sizes. The highlight of the simple sweater is the combination of three different yarn types creating an exciting colour and texture. The “cherry on the cake” is the ruffled hem and cuffs, which add a romantic look to the simple and straight design.
