Structure:
The sweater is worked seamlessly from the top down in stockinette stitch, featuring a lace pattern alongthe front and sleeves as well as(raglan) increases throughout. Thebody is first worked flat in rows toshape the crew neckline. After that,the sweater is completed entirely inthe round. The construction isdesigned so that increases areinitially worked only on the right-sideand wrong-side rows to create asaddle shoulder. This is followed by asection in which increases areworked exclusively for the sleeves.Finally, the yoke is worked like aclassic raglan sweater, withincreases along both the body andsleeves. For certain sizes, theincrease frequency along the frontand back changes throughout theyoke to ensure the best possible fitacross all sizes. Once the sleeves areseparated from the body, the bodyis worked without further increases instockinette stitch, while continuingthe lace pattern along the front,until the desired length is reached.The body is then finished with aribbed hem worked with twisted knitstitches. Next, the sleeve stitches areplaced back on the needles, andnew stitches are picked up underthe arms from the body. The sleeves are then worked in the round in stockinette stitch with the lace pattern running along them until the desired length is reached. After a series of decreases before the cuff, the sleeve cuffs are worked in the same rib pattern with twisted knit stitches. The crew neckline is finished with a ribbed collar. Additionally to the classic ribbing along collar, cuffs and hem, you can follow the instructions for an (applied) I-cord edging as well. The sweater is designed to fit closely around the neck and shoulders, while becoming slightly roomier around the bust, providing a subtle amount of positive ease for maximum comfort. The sleeves are designed with a slimmer fit around the upper arm. The classic ribbed edges and the slightly sporty silhouette create a beautiful contrast with the distinctive yarn choice and the romantic lace pattern that runs along the body and sleeves.
