Knitting Pattern in English for an Oversize-Sweater in Garter Stitch with Wide Balloon Sleeves and a Cropped Fit in Sizes XS | S | M (L | XL | 2XL) 3XL | 4XL | 5XL. 
 
Structure:
The sweater is knitted in four parts back and forth in rows and then, all parts are sewn together in the end by using the mattress stitch. First, the back part is worked, starting with the bottom hem in 1x1 classic rib and then worked in garter stitch. The shoulders are shaped with decreases for a better fit, then the remaining stitches are bound off with a classic knit bind-off. The front part is worked similar to the back part, the only difference is the additional round neck shaping when working the decreases along the shoulders. The sleeves are then worked separately as well, starting with the cuffs in 1x1 classic rib. After the cuffs, a bunch of increases are worked for a balloon-like and wide sleeve shape. Then, the sleeves are worked as well in garter stitch back and forth in rows. The stitches are again bound off with a classic knit bind-off. After washing and blocking, the shoulder seams are closed with the mattress stitch, the sleeve seams as well (and attached to the body of the sweater) and the side seams are closed too.
Finally, a collar in 1x1 classic rib is added to the neckline to match cuffs and body hem of the sweater. The fit is heavily oversized for the most comfortable and relaxed look. The fit is relatively short to match high-waisted trousers and skirts for a modern style.

Knitting Tension:
10x10 cm = 15 sts x 24 rs with 2 strands of yarn held together in garter stitch on 5.5 mm needles (wet blocked – the garment will stretch a lot after washing and blocking!)
