Knitting pattern in English for a classic, slightly oversized sweater with coloured contraststripes in sizes 1-2 | 2-3 | 3-4 (4-5 | 5-6 | 6-7) 8-9 | 10-11 | 12-13 years

 

Structure:

The sweater is knitted in stockinette stitch and in four pieces: the front and back part, left and right sleeve. The sleeves are shaped with increases after the hem in 1x1 ribbing. Colourful stripes every 8 rows are worked all over body and sleeves. To shape the shoulders and the round neck, you are going to work in a couple of decreases in the last rows. Afterwards, you sew the pieces together and attach a collar in 1x1 ribbing to the round neck.

The fit of the sweater is slightly oversized, it has drop shoulders and a cropped length. The sleeves are lose and tighten at the cuffs to create a slightly voluminous look.

- 4.5 mm and 3.5 mm knitting needles (3.5 mm circular knitting needles for the round neck)

- Darning needle

 

Knitting Tension:

10x10 cm = 20 sts x 28 rs in stockinette stitch on 4.5 mm knitting needles (wet blocked)
