Knitting Pattern in English for a Summery Skirt with an A-line Shape, a High Waist and an Eye-Catching Wave-Lace-Pattern in Sizes XXS/XS | S | M (L | XL | 2XL) 3XL | 4XL | 5XL.
 
Structure:
The skirt is worked top down in one piece. First of all, the double folded waistband is worked in stockinette stitch in the round, using the contrast colour (e. g. Truffle). Then, the skirt is worked in wave-lace-pattern, meaning lace-pattern stripes in the main colour are alternated by garter stitch stripes in the contrast colour. When working the garter stitch stripes in the CC, you will work increases for the A-line shape of the skirt. The increases can be adapted individually. When the final length of the skirt is reached (approximately the mid of your upper leg/shortly before your knees), bind off all stitches with a classic knit-bind-off after working one last garter stitch stripe in the CC.Then, the waistband is folded to the inside of the skirt, you will insert an elastic band to ensure a proper fit and the waistband is sewn to the inside of the skirt. After washing and blocking, the skirt blooms and the wave-lace-pattern really shines, emphasized by using the two contrast colours. The A-line shape creates a small waist and playfully circles around hips and upper legs.
